A surreal art poster featuring a woman with a sword, an exposed heart, and a heron helping her untangle what’s on her mind. Illustrated in deep teal, golden ochre, and cream, this piece brings together my love of nature and symbolism with the experience of learning to trust yourself.
Herons are my favorite animal, and I’ve always viewed them as a spirit guide. In this piece, the heron is gently drawing a thread from the woman’s open mind, helping her work through her thoughts and release what she’s ready to let go of.
Her heart is visible because protecting yourself doesn’t mean you stop feeling. The sword represents boundaries and the strength to decide what you allow into your life. Her sunglasses cover her eyes, while the third eye remains open—a reminder to listen to your intuition when things feel unclear.
I made this piece about finding your way through difficult emotions, accepting guidance, and learning how to care for yourself while keeping your heart open.
For anyone drawn to herons, symbolic illustration, or surreal wall art with a personal meaning, I hope this piece feels like something you can connect with.
